Help! I’ve been kidnapped! Algon and Mepit went to sleep. It was good food week and they had been stuffing their face like there was no tomorrow, Mepit could barely fit in the den. Algon had also put on quite a bit of weight through the week and he could feel his belly getting tight. As they began to drift off to sleep Algon suddenly heard something, it was not big enough for a bear, but too big for a sheep. He squeezed out the hole and Mepit desperately pulled at her middle. “Midnight snack?” She mumbled. “Shush, it’s one of the monsters.” ‘The monster’ turned around, he was tall, thin and wore artificial fur. He laid down a trap and laid some bait, Mepit ran to it immediately, Algon tried to grab her but it just caused him and Mepit to get trapped in the cage. They ran around desperate to find a way out, when they where hit by two little darts. Algon awoke later than Mepit, in a cage not much bigger than the first, Mepit took up a lot of room while the munched away at the food dish. “This is great!” She mumbled, Algon squeezed past and gazed at an empty food bowl, it was a few inches long and quite deep. “Where’s the food?” “That’s my food, I’m eating yours.” “What? Let me have it!” “Your wish.” Mepit moved her hefty load across the cage, Algon looked into the bowl, all that remained was a pitiful crumb. Weeks passed, Mepit always somehow made it to the bowl first, and slowly Algon got thinner and thinner, they where moved to another enclosure, but it was the same. After a month Mepit was big and became a huge attraction, being the only of her species in the zoo. While Algon always sat in the corner, his whole body feeling weak. The monsters originally intended on letting them go, but it seemed if Mepit didn’t go, neither would he. A little girl watched him though the bars, she held a baguette, piece by piece the gave the bread to him, soon it was gone and Algon felt full, this monster was a friend, she suddenly ran over and got another baguette, she was about to feed until the man came over, the same man as before. “Stacy! Why are you giving it bread!” “It was hungry.” The man stared at Algon, he to was a friend. Within the next week a new striped skunk came, she grasped the audience thanks to her amazing skills such as summersaults. Algon and Mepit where taken back to the forest next to the man, Algon finally got to put on some weight and Stacy came almost weekly. It didn’t take long for Mepit to become a cannonball again either.
